How to eat healthy and still have fun

Most diets cause people to lose weight and then put it right back on as soon as they are done with the diet. The key is to make a complete lifestyle change. The best plan for this that I have come across is the 5 and 2 plan. 5 days a week, from Sunday night till Friday afternoon, eat healthy cooked foods no meals out of a box or microwaved meals. Then from Friday night till Sunday morning eat anything you want and enjoy it. Also eat 3 smaller meals a day with a healthy snack in between each meal. This plan for eating allows you to eat some junk food and enjoy it but most of the time you are eating healthy food. If you adopt this plan you will live a long and healthy life.

West bend chiropractor explains how to lower blood pressure with out medication

There was a study done in Chicago on how an upper cervical chiropractic adjustment would affect blood pressure. The study revealed that a chiropractic adjustment to the upper neck lowers blood pressure as much as 2 medications. The reason this is possible is when the first bone in the neck becomes subluxated, a subluxation is a bone in the spine that is out of alignment putting pressure on nerves, it puts pressure on nerves that supply parasympathetic innervation to the heart. The parasympathetic part of the nervous system slows the heart down. If these nerves are pinched then the heart will not receive the message to slow down. Then you get high blood pressure. A subluxation can be caused by falling on an ice patch, a car accident or birth. Once you have a subluxation it will only get worse unless you receive a chiropractic adjustment to correct it. If you or anyone you know has high blood pressure get checked by a chiropractor to see if you have a subluxation in your upper neck. This way you can lower your blood pressure with out all the dangerous side effects that come with medication.

West Bend Chiropractor explains soft tissue repair

When a person sustains a significant trauma which can be a football tackle, a falling on a patch of ice or any car accident. Research has shown that a 2 mph car accident can tear ligaments in your spine. The spinal bones called vertebrae are knocked out of alignment. When the hard vertebrae move out of alignment they damage the soft tissues of the spine. If the soft tissues are not torn then they can be repaired with out surgery. In order for the healing to take place optimally the vertebra must be placed back into alignment, then the soft tissue can heal properly. There are 3 phases to soft tissue healing. The first is inflammatory and it takes up to 72 hours. After the first 72 hours of healing the second phase begins, repair, and this can take up to 6 weeks. After the first 6 weeks of healing the third phase begins, maturation, this takes at least a year and can take up to 3 years to be complete. The healing will not progress normally until the vertebra stops damaging the soft tissue. This will only happen when the vertebra is put back into normal alignment. Chiropractors receive the most advanced training for restoring proper vertebral alignment. Even when healing is complete the injured soft tissue will only regain 50 to 70% of it’s original tensile strength. Leaving this area very susceptible to re-injury.
